Across the world, wherever community members reside, His Holiness appoints a representative known as the Aamil in each city to oversee the spiritual, social, and organisational affairs of the community. They lead prayers, deliver sermons, and provide religious guidance while managing community infrastructure, welfare initiatives, and educational programs.
The central administration department oversees the management of Aamils, from appointments to transfers and provides technical, logistical and managerial support for them to lead their respective communities. Each Aamil serves as a link between community members and the central administration. To support the Amil, the department also oversees the appointment of a ‘jamaat committee’ where community members are appointed for a fixed term to serve in 12 different sub-committees that manage the various affairs of the local community. The department regularly provides support and guidance to these committees, enabling them to serve their communities in the best possible manner.
