Faiz al-Mawaid al-Burhaniyah (FMB) is the Dawoodi Bohra community kitchen programme, which aims to provide at least one wholesome and freshly prepared meal daily to every community household across the globe. Launched in August 2011 by the late Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, this novel initiative benefits over 135,000 community households in 869 cities spread across 40 countries.
Apart from permanent paid staff, over 7,000 Bohra volunteers strive to keep the community kitchens running and ensure that fresh, nutritious meals are delivered on time every day. Run by voluntary donations from community members, FMB brings together every community member, regardless of socio-economic status. Over the past ten years, FMB has further expanded to serve others outside the Bohra community, including numerous sustained efforts to provide food to the impoverished as well as aid and relief supplies during emergencies and natural calamities.
