Shahzada Husain Burhanuddin

Shahzada Husain Burhanuddin is the third son of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin. He leads the administrative affairs of Dawat-e-Hadiyah and is the chairman of SBUT, an ambitious cluster redevelopment project in South Mumbai, India.

Shahzada Burhanuddin is the provost of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah, tending to both the academic and administrative aspects of the academy. He also provides oversight to the Department of Higher Education that provides financial assistance and counselling services to students.

Shahzada Burhanuddin heads Mahad al-Zahra, an institute for the memorisation of the Quran and the study of Quranic arts and sciences, established by the late Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin in 1976. He conducts the viva voce examinations of all those within the Bohra community who have committed the entire Holy Quran to memory and is an avid proponent of His Holiness’ wish to see at least one hafiz (a person who has committed the entire Quran to memory) in every community household across the world. He was also instrumental in the founding of Rawdat al-Quran al-Kareem, an innovative primary and secondary school located in Mumbai, which takes a Quran-centric approach to education and upbringing.

He also heads the Department for Business Development, which encourages and facilitates community members to take initiatives in business ventures and build capacity in existing enterprises. Shahzada Burhanuddin also oversees the functioning of the Qardan Hasana department, which provides financial assistance to community members based on the Quranic principle of interest-free loans.
